A Boy and His Pole Spear (Wednesday 8/5/09)

Tim is a spear fishing fool! I am amazed at this kid and his diving/hunting abilities! I believe my husband is equally amazed, but may be a bit disappointed that he himself is only slightly better at spear fishing than I... and I suck, in case you're wondering. I've caught zilch... ZERO! We are anchored at Isla Partida at the northern anchorage called Crescent Bay. There used to be a white sand beach, but we believe it was washed away a few years ago by hurricane Marty. Now there are just large bouldery type rocks... slippery and sure-fire ankle twisters! The dog hates going potty here! The water, however, is divine! Clear, cool and full of the most amazing fish! We've seen an octopus, sea turtle, and dozens of sting rays. Lobsters are a dime a dozen here. Tim is bringing home supper every night: grouper, hoghead, trigger, opal eye... we are dining on the best!
