Getting Back to Normal
Now that the threat of bottoming out and/or thrashing about in the slip as the surge pours in and out of the marina has passed, Hotspur is back to boat jobs. Since we are paying a pretty penny in the La Cruz Marina, the only justification is to get a bunch of work done. The kids are off and running every day with the little people of Marina La Cruz - in Tim's case, the not-so-little people in the marina.
Stainless is a nasty job that no one wants to do. But since Jim is doing the bigger nastier jobs, I feel guilted into doing the stainless. Blessed is me - for the cruising rumors are true! There is a cheap Mexican toilet bowl cleaner that melts away the corrosion at a mere cost of $2.50US.
The product is HARPIC and it works wonders on stainless. Armed with a toothbrush, rubber gloves and a TV commercial smile I can knock out quite a bit of the nasty rusty splotches in minutes. It's the wiping down, rinsing and then waxing that takes forever.
Once I can get pictures uploaded I'll show you what it looks like. This marina has horrid internet and the Banda Ancha is so overused that it is also practically worthless. Anyway, HARPIC - the goose-necked toilet bowl cleaner. Works wonders.
