WINDFALL’s and HOTSPUR’s Expenses for January 2009 & 2010

The month of January was monumental for the Faulkner family. Before selling our 35' Cal Cruising, ‘Windfall’, we embarked on a new family cruising boat... a 41' Tartan TOCK we call ‘Hotspur’. Although we have both boats in a marina slip, we charged the slip fees to our credit cards. These expenses will be shown in February’s expenses, as they were paid in February. After purchasing ‘Hotspur’, we spent oodles of time cleaning ‘Windfall’ so that we could prepare to sell her... FAST! We also built bunks in ‘Hotpsur’ and cleaned her out as much as possible so that we could move aboard... making it easier to beautify ‘Windfall’.

Not much money was spent on 'Hotspur' at this point because we were researching options. 'Hotspur' had a bum engine and the fuel tank had let go. There were numerous other small problems, too. It took time to make a decision... which way to go. New Yanmar 55HP? Or 120HP Ford Lehman total re-build? Cut old fuel tank out or is it possible to salvage the one that's damaged?
