Girl Day at Sweet Pea
We left Santa Rosalia for a couple days while we awaited Rich's return from the states. The harbor in Santa Rosalia is very hot and lacks breeze. Lori on Third Day was feeling adventurous (and hot) and went with us as well as Ceilydh. All of us are waiting for Rich. We got an email from him saying he'd be a couple more days. No problem... we just extended our stay in Sweet Pea Cove a bit longer. Then came another email saying that he'd be another few days. Uh oh... running out of food.
Well, Ladies Luncheon might be stretching it a bit, but it's as close as we could get. Lori, Diane and I met for a Nori Roll making afternoon. We only had a few veggies left so we made veggie sushi rolls out of 4 cups of rice using cucumbers, carrots and some marinated zucchini. As the afternoon with no children about progressed (they were playing games on the beach and sailing the dinghies), we ladies expanded and incorporated bead making into our wonderful day with the polymer clay supplies I purchased from Marnie on 2 Pieces of 8. (Marnie, if you're reading this I have to tell you how much fun we're having with this!!!! Thank you!)
The polymer clay is rolled out on a pasta machine and the little creations we made with the colors and designs were inspiring. I took the beads and baked them for 30 minutes at 250* on paper towels that evening and the next day I showed my friends what we had accomplished. It's totally worth putting up with Jim's complaining of space and weight on the boat... our Girl Day was so much fun!
