La Capitana

We are still in the Santa Rosalia area on the southern Baja of Mexico. We love the little town. The people are wonderful here. Unfortunately, this is the hottest time of the year and we don't have air conditioning aboard the boat. We don't need it at any time... except in the summertime in Santa Rosalia.   

We are waiting for our 12volt refrigeration unit that we ordered. Our friend Rich on Third Day is up in the states now and will be bringing it back for us in a few days. Meanwhile, we talked his wife into joining us on their 50' Hudson 2 hours away at Sweet Pea Cove for a few days. It is rare that you see women handling their vessels without a man on board, but Lori and the two kids followed us out to Sweet Pea all on their very own. Lori anchored and set it without any help from us or our other boating buddies Ceilydh.

I told Lori that I'm really proud of her and I'm also a bit jealous. I don't believe that Jim would ever consider letting me take the boat out on my own... even though it's my boat, too. Lori replied that Rich didn't really have a choice since he's not here. So, I guess I'll have to figure out a way to get rid of Jim for a couple days so I can release the rebel within... I mean, so that I can be the captain.
