Last Day of Shopping in 2009 (Thursday, 12/31/09)

Had to get some last minute supplies for a New Year's Day lasagna dinner aboard 'Windfall'. Carolyne and I took the 6 peso a piece bus to Soriana and had a blast! Mazatlan is beautiful in its own right, but the Christmas decor makes the season brighter. The bus ride was easy. The trip home was not so easy as we had our bags filled up and they were heavy. Carolyne needs more practice at being a pack mule... she can't carry heavy things for very long. As we headed back to Marina Mazatlan, I was weighted down with a backpack and rolly cart that was now a carry-on since you can't roll them up those huge bus stairs. Luckily, I grasped the back of a bus seat with my free hand and only my rolly cart lurched forward as the bus took off. A friendly local man grabbed the rolly cart for me and probably saved himself from being crushed under its weight. We made it home, sweating and panting, and Carolyne may have to be bribed with candy before she goes grocery shopping with me again any time soon.
