Grandpa's Visit (Wednesday - January 20, 2010)
Being cruisers, we don’t often get family visits. But Grandpa is pretty faithful and has visited us once in La Paz during February 2009 and now again in Mazatlan this month. We had the pleasure of enjoying his company and that of his friend, Gwen, January 8-14 as they rented a very nice Jr. Suite at the El Cid Marina Hotel.
The kids always look forward to a visit with Grandpa. Carolyne got several shopping excursions with both Grandpa and Gwen. Tim had a blast playing Grandpa’s real flight simulator. Eating out (a rarity for us) becomes daily almost. Tim and Carolyne even got a sleepover with Grandpa and Gwen.
The visit kept the kids busy and gave Jim and I time to work on the two boats. In fact, while our family was visiting, we closed on the Tartan and have now officially become "two boat" owner’s... not a good thing, by the way. A day after closing, Grandpa and Gwen headed back to the USA and we said our farewells.
