UP PUP Pup is up - (Tuesday - April 27, 2010)

We had this problem before... how do we get the dog off the boat on the hard??? Simple solution... I built a "harness" out of a child's life jacket... cool! Where is it? Oh, Jim in his mad frenzy to get everything we don't need off the boat... got rid of it!!!  (Yes, we are married and that gives me the right to point the finger!) Now we need something quick and what do we have? Nothing... except Meri's sweatshirt... Hmmmm...

I cut four holes in the sweatshirt and reinforced the back leg holes with webbing scraps I saved. With my heavy, old Viking sewing machine, I made a few alterations. A little improvising and voila! We have a quickie and safe and strong safety harness/lift for getting Bailey on and off the boat while on the hard!

Now... does she like it? No... definitely not. But she cooperates and has such a good attitude. We couldn't ask for a better ship puppy... well... if she liked the water that would be a plus.
