What it Costs to Cruise - At Least for Us! An April 2009 & 2010 Comparison
2009 expenses in April partially include Jim’s solo trip to the USA. We purchased an Engel Freezer we had delivered to his dad’s place and Jim brought it back with him. We also bought a small outboard for the dinghy, some kayak paddles, the Heather and Shawn Sea of Cortez Cruising Guide, car insurance, a bus ticket, and a rental car to see some sites.
April 2010: We’re still paying... and paying... and paying some more! Hotpsur is on the road to recovery. We’re eating out more as we work hard. Beer expenses are up, too. Go figure? Hotspur is hauled out; $380 US, roughly. In addition, the final marina fees are entered, annual Mexican liability insurance for the boat has been purchased, solar panel supports have been built, installed and paid for, and Hotpsur’s ship station license has been purchased from the FCC.
