Aahhh... La Paz! (Thursday - June 10, 2010)
Being back in La Paz has meant endless social gatherings for us. It has been wonderful after working so hard in Mazatlan. We have reconnected with old friends and met new ones along the way.

We have had dinner dates with all of the above and we have been in La Paz a week! It is exciting to be back. The familiarity of the town is comforting and running errands is a snap.
The kids and I are preparing to make a trip to the US this upcoming Monday. Jim will stay at anchor with Bailey-dog and Bad Kitty while we’re gone. After researching the options, we decided to take a bus from La Paz to Mexicali. Jim’s dad will pick us up across the border in Calexico. It’s a 24 hour bus ride and I’m looking forward to it. The buses are air conditioned, sport big screen movies, and make frequent stops for refreshments and leg stretching.
I booked round trip tickets aboard ABC/Aguila bus lines. Speaking Spanish is a plus... I asked about a discount and found out that round trip purchases gave us 10% off and that Carolyne was half price. We paid $625US for our round trip tickets. If I hadn’t asked, I would have only bought tickets one way, would have paid for three adults and it would have ended up costing a total of $835.
And what is this??? I think the idea of living aboard a "bachelor boat" for 10 days has gone to Jim’s head... literally! Jim surprised me and shaved off his beard yesterday. His face is very kissable now. Still... something about the baby-face look bothers me. Is it that right before I leave for the states for 10 days he gets all un-scraggly?? No... Jim knows that I have more friends than he has and that many of my cohorts will be keeping a close eye on him while I’m away. No... I’m pretty sure that Jim may have to grow his beard back because I think he looks 20 years younger than I!!!! Life is just not fair!
