No Agua????
What happens in a small pueblo when the municipality forgets to pay a 2 million peso electricity bill (approximately $160,000 US dollars)... and that electricity just happens to run the water pump for the entire town??? Of course, everyone knows that some politician(s) has(ve) absconded with the dinero. Employees have not been paid at the local hospital, school and police departments for 6 weeks now. The lack of water is just another low blow.
Santa Rosalia, Mexico has had no water for the past several days. Luckily, it's an election year and the Governor of the Baja will need to make things right if he wants to look good. That's the good news. The bad news is that until then, there has been no toilets, no showers, and no drinking water... although thankfully there are places to buy purified water. The town cancelled school. Unfortunately, there is no other option at this time for the people in the hospital.
Luckily for us, we have large 167 gallon water tankage on Hotspur. And also luckily for us, we just filled the tanks recently. We won't shower or hose off the boat until further notice. Sponge baths are foreseeable.
We also have the option of making water with our Spectra watermaker. But the harbor is disgusting and even if it wasn't, the red tide is still present. We'll have to go out past the red tide many miles to make fresh water if it becomes necessary. At least we have that option.
