Red Tide

I don't know if this was instigated by the Bloody Mary-thon, but we have a red tide in the harbor and for miles outside the ocean. Miles and miles of the red hue floats on top of the water. I thought it was blood at first. Then, paint? But no, it is the algae bloom and it is very toxic. So far, we don't seem to have many dead fish and the bloom itself doesn't stink. But the fact is, we can't run our watermaker to make drinking water...

a real bummer since the Santa Rosalia, Mexico municipality didn't pay their water bill and now the town of Santa Rosalia has no water! We may have to leave town just so we can make water outside the red tide zone if something doesn't happen fast!
