Homeschooling in San Blas
Lori from s/v Third Day and I took our children and the two boys from Albatross (Teagan and Mick) to the historic Spanish fort and church that is renowned in San Blas. It was a mere 10-pesos per person to enter the grounds and as soon as the "students" saw the giant vined tree they were off and running before we could stop them. So much for the history lesson we planned that day.
The stringy, thick vines that cascaded off the enormously thick trunked tree were eye candy to our crew of little monkeys. The kids went crazy! They took off like mini George of the Jungle's and began swinging back and forth from the vines.
I tried my hand at swinging, but it was a real drag for me... literally. I am still nursing the blisters and removing splinters a week later. Lori, on the other hand, was a vine swinging professional. She was amazing!
It was really hard to take the moving shots and these photos are the only ones that really turned out. If I ever figure out how to put the video on of Lori and of Tim, there will be some action! We finally got the kids attention and walked through the ruins of the old church and the Spanish fort. They ate lunch and played some more. So much for history.
