Agua Verde
Another gorgeous anchorage! Palm trees and cacti scatter themselves throughout the landscape. Various rock formations are seen in the water making for a dangerous passage to the bay.
This is a very quiet village. Small, modest homes are landscaped beautifully with flowering vegetation. Most homes have outhouses or porta-potties... the kind you see at construction sites. Goats, pigs, and cattle walk freely throughout the village grazing on the scarcity the dessert beach has to offer.
We bought a large cake of fresh goat cheese from a farmer there. $30 pesos (about $2.50US) got us a lovely round (8" diameter) of feta-like queso. Delicious in salads or crumbled on top of beans!
We extended out stay here due to friends of Tim and Carolyne arriving in the anchorage the day before we planned to depart. Sam and Isabelle came over to play games. We all enjoyed homemade pizza and chocolate cream pie.
