LoretoFest!! 2009
We ended up staying a month in Escondido... leaving only a few days to go to Bahía Salina. We payed for a mooring ball in the main anchorage for 12 days while Jim traveled north to retrieve the car and visit his dad. The kids and I stayed on board Windfall. He returned just in time for LoretoFest, which was fabulous! Many cruisers arrived and we met several incredible people, including 2 kid boats (or boats with kids on board) Don Quixote and Just a Minute. The kids all hit it off immediately. There were seminars and children's programs scheduled during LoretoFest. Tim won 1st place at the Mexican Train domino tournament... his prize was a $15 gift certificate for earrings at a local jewelry store... which he gave to his very appreciative mother for Mother's Day... :)!!! Tim and Jaime each won 1st place at the dinghy race... Jaime was at the helm and Tim was responsible for administering the tasks assigned to them before they could get to the finish line. Carolyne, entrepreneur, walked dogs for meal tickets and then bought our beers and hotdogs. I volunteered to serve a couple dinners and Jim... well, he drank beer and visited our new friends.
