A Week in Cabo

Meri and BaileyWe have snorkeled several times at Playa del Amor (or Lover's Beach) near the famous arch. Beautiful fish congregate around the barnicle laden granite bottom. The surf is a bit strong, but the kids seem to weather it... better than their mother! I look like a dork in my full on anti-sunray swim wear. I'm pretty sure I heard one of the tourists ask if there was a Star Trek convention in town. To top it off, I suck at surf... rolling around like a jellyfish knocked semi-stupid. Carolyne can outswim me and Tim pretends he doesn't know who I am... "typical teenager" I like to tell myself.Tim

The water is crystal clear at the anchorage. We would swim around the boat more, but the jetskiers are maniacs. Cruise ships enter and leave the harbor regularly. We installed our rock-n-roll stablizer after the first night. Our anchor seems to be holding steady... still haven't figured out what's wrong with anchor alarm. The stablizer seems to help quite a bit and we have reduced the rocking and rolling by 50%.

My Spanish is improving... I actually had a conversation about my hand held radio with an elderly gentleman. We use the radio to keep in touch with whomever remains on the boat. When the old man shook my hand and we said our goodbyes, it occurred to me that WOW... I actually had an improvised conversation in Spanish and he knew what I was saying and I knew most of what he was saying!! I'm ready for more!!
