Isla San Francisco
One of our favorite sites is "The Hook" on Isla San Francisco. This uninhabited island is wonderful for hiking, kayaking, snorkeling (although I'm the only one who still feels the water is too cold!), and beachcombing. The anchorage is clean... water clear blue!
Tim tried his luck with the Hawaiian Sling, a spearing fishy thingy. Since he's new at the approach we feel we can't be too hard on him, though we don't like the idea of maiming fish who then escape. Unfortunately for this little puffer (who when speared then puffed to show his indignation), he was let go with a trendy new body piercing.
The seashells have been many, but the quality has been lacking. A little like finding a needle in a haystack. Here, Carolyne and I have found quite a few nice specimens. Tim has come across a few as well. Jim found a super big exoskeleton of a sea urchin while free diving. It's been a little difficult to study all of our finds without the internet.
