Tim is 14!!!!!
Tim turned 14 on June 25th. We had a hotdog party up at the marina and cruisers joined us for the celebration. Tim specified he wanted a Tres Leches cake... God knows I won't try that one at home! Not only does the idea of firing up the oven in 90* weather NOT appeal to me, but I'm not sure my first attempt at Tres Leches would end up in less than a disaster! It is a very moist, sticky, gooey cake served cold that tastes sinfully, creamily, dreamily delicious! I was told that "tres leches" or "three milks" gets its name from the milk used in the cake itself, the cream filling, and then the icing. Luckily, I was directed to the local Moviestar cell phone store to purchase a freshly made Tres Leches big enough for Tim's party. At 165 pesos (roughly $12.69US), I didn't feel the least bit guilty for not making it myself. I transported it to the marina fridge... BIG and COOL!
The cruisers showed up with unexpected gifts for Tim: A Santa Rosalia Marina T-Shirt, a Cemex T-Shirt, a Led Zepplin CD, a pocket knife, 10 pesos, and various precious homemade cards. Some folks brought some food to share and the company was great! I think Tim appreciated the get-together.
