Fishing enroute Los Frailes and Los Muertos
Being landlubbers, this deep sea fishing thing is a new experience for all of us. Tim has shown the most interest and so Jim and I have backed off and let him jump in. He was most disappointed that he didn't catch a Marlin while in Cabo.
To everyone's relief, Tim caught a decent size Dorado bull. They are so beautiful that it's a shame to eat them... except there is nothing more tasty than a fresh mahi mahi fillet! If you've never caught one before it is truly a thing to behold. They turn angry green, blue, black and gold colors while thrashing and jumping... attempting at escape. Tim has lost a number of them by "not playing them out", as he calls it. This one was 3 1/2' long. He was delicious sauteed simply in garlic and butter.
Before Don left us in Cabo, he gave us a number of rods and reels and lures. We are so grateful to him for sharing his years of fishing knowledge with us. We can't wait until he joins us again!
