CAROLYNE'S OCTOBER - another poem by 9 yr old Carolyne (Thursday 10/29/09)
CAROLYNE’S OCTOBER
In the fall of October,
A drop of golden sun can make the leaves of
Purple,
Red,
Orange
And yellow,
Plus brown,
Turn gold.
Then the trout will blow with the breeze,
And the dying trees will come alive,
And thrive.
In October the birds will chirp.
In October the hills will glow.
In October my love will grow,
Even though it may snow.
SAIL TO PORT, a poem written by Carolyne (Wednesday 10/28/09)
Carolyne wrote a poem while we were sailing from Alacran to San Francisquito. My 9-year old (soon to be 10 years old on Halloween) likes to explore her hidden talents. I liked this one and asked her permission to post it.
SAIL TO PORT
Wave, Crash!
Wave, Crash!
I’m sailing to port,
Wave, Crash!
Wave, Crash!
I’m sailing to port,
Look at the birds,
This is just a bit of luck!
Look at my pole,
I got a fish!
Wave, Crash!
Wave, Crash!
I’m sailing to port,
The cities are big,
Demon Crossing (Sunday 10/25/09)
We decided to depart Alacran anchorage headed to the inner bay of San Francisquito due to north winds... perfect for heading south! Low and behold, little did we know the swells were going to hit us aft quarter... producing a very uncomfortable and messy ride! Did I mention 30+ knots of wind? Oh, that is also important...
Bye Bye BLA (Saturday 10/24/09)
This is our very last day in Bahia Los Angeles. This afternoon we head south and leave the glorious northern Sea of Cortez for warmer destinations. Our plan is to be in La Paz by Thanksgiving.
