Being landlubbers, this deep sea fishing thing is a new experience for all of us. Tim has shown the most interest and so Jim and I have backed off and let him jump in. He was most disappointed that he didn't catch a Marlin while in Cabo.

We have snorkeled several times at Playa del Amor (or Lover's Beach) near the famous arch. Beautiful fish congregate around the barnicle laden granite bottom. The surf is a bit strong, but the kids seem to weather it... better than their mother! I look like a dork in my full on anti-sunray swim wear. I'm pretty sure I heard one of the tourists ask if there was a Star Trek convention in town.

We pulled up the anchor at 2am from Bahia Santa Maria and sailed south to Cabo. No other anchorages are between Magdelena Bay, so we made sure we had good weather before proceeding. Without internet service and without good contact from our dependable sailing nets on the SSB, we opted to get reports from other vessels we passed. We had great weather all the way down.

Pulled into Bahia Santa Maria at 6:30am and what a beautiful sight! It's a very nice anchorage and we decide to stay for a couple days. Local fishermen came to the boat and traded cheap tequila, AA batteries, candy and some of our fresh caught tuna for 8 live lobsters! The next day, same thing but different fishermen. Life is grand! Dolphins have come into the bay to feast on tasty fish...

We waved goodbye to Turtle Bay after topping off with diesel, unloading trash and purchasing some drinking water. One propane tank is empty, but we didn't want to pay their outrageous fee of $25USD for 2 gallons.

The arrival in Turtle Bay is a relief. Its tranquil anchorage has provided us with well deserved R&R!

Thanksgiving Day! We finally cast off from Puerto Salinas Marina where we have been living aboard Windfall for 5 months. We received a hearty (and tearful) farewell from our beloved community of Puerto Salinas friends.
