I haven’t written a negative blog excerpt as of yet... I think it’s high time!

I’m very proud of our children. Tim, who is fourteen, is a tremendous help in taking on responsibilities, especially the kind that require muscle. He and Jim make a fine team when lifting and securing our 15 HP Mercury outboard to the dinghy or back onto the sailboat when we get underway. The outboard is extremely heavy and cumbersome.

Jim accuses me of embellishing my stories, but that’s not true. This time, I have witnesses! Anchored in Bahia Los Angeles, we endured a reported 48 knots of wind in the evening and throughout the entire night... gusting off and on.

The full moon parties are few and far between. After all, they happen only at a full moon. The first party we missed because we ran like scared chickens up to Bahia Willard during hurricane Jimena.

This beautiful, small anchorage on Isla La Guarda is where we spent four blissful nights buddy boating with friends on ‘Just A Minute’.

I must preface this entry with a BIG 'thank you' to my dear friend, Jackie on s/v 'Liberty' Before we left for our cruising life, she invited me over and showed me how to make sushi rolls.

Well, it finally happened. Shuffle, Shuffle, SHUFFLE... I keep telling the children. Here in Mexico in the shallow water, you shuffle your feet... you DON’T step. Sting rays bury themselves in the sand and gravel. You can tell a child to shuffle, but you can’t make him dance. Actually, you CAN make him dance...

I am an ‘official’ net controller for the Amigo Net. This particular net is a single sideband (SSB) mariners net to help sailors with weather. Don Anderson on 'Summer Passage' is a SSB/HAM weather man in Oxnard, CA who volunteers his time and knowledge at scheduled frequencies/times to help vessels at sea negotiate weather patterns that develop.

Heavy north winds (N-NW) kept us from going anywhere yesterday ot today. The winds began around noon and blew like stink at 25 knots for hours. It let up finally around 6pm. We decided not to beat into the wind or waves and stay put.

Had a blast at the 2009 Net Controller’s Party held at Guillermo’s in Bahia Los Angeles, Mexico.
